During the summer , we had a FLL kickoff party. It was a pool party, and was very fun.
We went to Waring Archaeology Center and learned a lot about archaeologists. Their main tool is the trowel, they face many problems, and some of them are electricity and funding. They had some rooms , such as the storage, the lab, and more.
On Lanor Day, we had a camp that included a lot of games, such as a marshmallow tower game. We had a very good time.
We had a STEM workshop with kids who have autism, and we had some stations. If you completed 5 stations, you got a free dragon.
We went to the scrimmage on the 24th of November. We scored a high score of 310 points. We also had a mock judge at the scrimmage. There were a lot of snacks, too. we ate pizza for lunch. We earned the Robot Performance Award and the Champion's Award.
At our regional competition, we improved from our scrimmage in both robot and innovation project. We got a high score of 420 points, earning us 2nd place for robot performance, and we won 1st place in innovation project. However, we did not win the Champion's Award. Although we were disappointed, this motivated us to work harder. Afterwards, we went to Urban Air, then ate at a vietnamese restaurant, and went back to our lab and played video games!
At the end of December, most of our members took a trip to Playa del Carmen. In addition to playing at the beach and going to Xplore, we also took a group trip to Chichen Itza, an ancient Mayan civilization. It was really cool and we even recorded some product videos there, including one with our tour guide, who speaks a mayan language!
We went to Senior center to give seniors a tech show. We showed our robot and how AI can live generate cool photos for their birthday celebration. They were all very impressed and loved the photos we created for them.
Right before super regionals, we went back to the Waring Archaeology Center to test our MARP prototype. We showed our MARP glasses' hands-free voice documentation features to them, and they gave us many good ideas for use cases for MARP. We also painted a friendship pot as seen here. After that, we all ate dinner at Golden Corral!
Due to snow and ice two weekends in a row, our super regionals was pushed twice and was virtual eventually. We were allowed to submit our highest scoring run and a recorded presentation, allowing use to get 535 points! Through all our hard work since regionals, we got the champions award and 1st place robot performance!
We promoted FLL and our team at the New Year's Party at Autrey Mill. We also had a lot of fun and ate a lot of delicious food!
After massive improvements from both regionals and super regionals, we got 515 points and got A PERFECT SCORE on our judging! We won 1st place robot performance and 1st place champions award, and we are going to the world championships at the end of April!
We introduced FLL and STEM to many kids at the Johns Creek Lunar New Year Festival. We also sold 3D prints to fundraise, and had a lot of fun visiting other people's booths.
